The overlook is located on a hilltop adjacent to the River Parks trail that runs along South Quanah Avenue. This location provides sweeping views of the Arkansas River with a shade structure and interpretive signage explaining the historical account of the visible natural river forge. Two concepts were given to the Crosbie Heights Neighborhood Association and public for a vote. The concepts were derived from previous public meeting concerns about safety, amenities, and functionality. The final project incorporated similar materials, color hues, and theming that appear throughout the park. The park also provides a sculpture base that will connect to future sculpture gardens.
Although a smaller scale project, LandPlan was an effective liaison with many different City of Tulsa departments and public interests to provide the best possible use of space and funding for all parties involved. The goal was to bring revitalization to the park by providing a point of interest to the neighborhood and visual access to the Arkansas River for bird watching, historians, art enthusiast, and a rest stop for River Park trail users.
