LandPlan was hired to create a comprehensive master plan and marketing graphics for the Cherokee Strip Museum. The Museum provides a glimpse into Oklahoma’s pioneering history with old-fashioned agriculture equipment and restored buildings. The vision for the master plan was influenced by the theme of “times past”. A plaza on the back side of the museum would function as an orientation setting with integrated elements in the paving and gateway to help distinguish a way of walking into the past. The proposal included a hierarchy of trail systems throughout the facility that would provide handicap accessibility to all, education information locations and a larger parking area to accommodate the anticipated influx of student visitors. Plan improvements to the creek involved low water crossings, edge treatment enhancements, and increased flow. LandPlan supplied a design for the Cherokee Strip Museum that would attract more guests and provide interactive learning.
