Lindsey House is a transitional living center for women in downtown Tulsa. A small, paved side yard area was the only outdoor space available to families. The fenced asphalt yard was hot, narrow, and was used by kids, smokers, mothers, employees, and visitors. The designs reflected a need to create separate rooms for different users within the space, provide play areas for kids, a relaxing outdoor environment, and deck and arbors for outdoor gathering and shade. Wall hung chalkboards and wall planters allow vertical use of space in a very confined area. The project was partially constructed as an Eagle Scout project by a local boy scout.
