About This Project
A bond issue, passed in 2009, includes the construction of Collinsville City Park’s new skate park, playgrounds, spray pad, shade sail, custom park signage, pre-fabricated restroom, and a basketball court. The spray pad consists of colored concrete paving, water jets arching out of the ground, and water pouring and spraying out of flowers and buckets high above. The playground has two different play equipment pieces for two age groups, 2-5 years and 5-12 years. The playground surface is poured-in-place rubber for ease of maintenance. The skate park is a concrete pad with various banks and ramps to provide challenging skating events for the users. The concrete basketball court with painted striping is adjacent to the skate park. Decorative lighting provides increased nighttime safety.
