About This Project

Site development improvements for the Sequoyah Lodge at Sequoyah State Park are components of the substantial lodge upgrade. The overall vision for the lodge enhancement will improve the guest experience.

The event lawn includes a new plaza area with an ornamental fountain and landscaping. This plaza will act as a hub connecting the many entries to the lodge. The plaza design will hide the functional truck access for deliveries to the event hall. A formal event area was desired for a wedding processional. With a sculptural fountain denoting the beginning at upper terrace, the corridor proceeds down a staircase past a second decorative fountain to the lower spectator terrace arriving at the terminus in the nuptial plaza. Stone columns with gas fire urns on either side of the corridor add to the ceremonial effect for more formal events. While specifically designed for wedding processionals, this area will have multi-function use for many event types. Access between the event hall and the event lawn is highlighted by a new terrace/overlook just north of the stage/nuptial plaza. For year round use and ease of maintenance, both terraces are synthetic turf.
