Ada Glenwood and Wintersmith Pools

About This Project

With the help of a one-cent sales tax extension, Ada was able to replace its deteriorating swimming pools, which had served the community for more than 50 years. The new pools feature modern amenities and offer something for everyone. Wintersmith Pool includes a zero depth entry, water play structure with dumping bucket, three large slides, three meter diving platform, one meter diving board, current channel, floating animal islands, lap lanes, and volleyball net. Glenwood Pool includes a zero depth entry, play structure with a dumping bucket, one large drop slide, large family slide, lap lanes, current channel, volleyball net, one meter diving board, water basketball hoop, and splash pad on pool deck. The Wintersmith Pool bathhouse and other structures include natural stone facades in keeping with the lodge and other historic park structures. The aquatic features, materials, detailing and color selection were chosen to blend modern play features with the preservation of the City’s historic parks. Waters Edge Aquatic Design served as the aquatic engineer for both of Ada’s pools.
