Norman Streetscape

About This Project

LandPlan assisted in providing a major renovation to downtown Norman. The designed area consisted of 3 blocks of Main Street from the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad to Porter Avenue. The project consisted of new ADA accessible concrete sidewalks with cobblestone paver edging and diamond scored concrete at the corners. Curb extensions with planters at the intersections help to bring pedestrians farther out into the intersection for better visibility while crossing. The pavement in the intersections and at the crosswalks is made up of colored and stamped asphalt designed to look like cobblestone. Lacebark elm trees with tree grates line the street. Decorative traffic lights, street lights and pedestrian lights help to tie the project together. Benches, trash receptacles and ash urns were provided.
